Each school in the country has been managing the extreme hot weather based upon their own particular circumstances and buildings. We have carefully assessed the situation as it has progressed.

As you know we have done our very best to follow the DfE guidance and keep the academy open by making sensible adjustments, allowing as many pupils as possible to attend. I have been immensely proud of the way the pupils and staff have managed.

However, as the temperatures have risen, it is becoming increasingly difficult to manage the safety and wellbeing of pupils and staff, even with the adjustments that we have put in place. In light of this and in consideration of the Met Office Red Warning, we have therefore taken the difficult decision to close the academy tomorrow Thursday 25th June 2026. We will be sending a 1 day voucher for tomorrow to all families receiving FSM. We have a planned INSET on Friday 26th June 2026 and therefore are already closed to students.
